Are low-carbohydrate diets safe in chronic or diabetic kidney disease?
Low carbohydrate diets can treat both obesity and diabetes, however they are discouraged in CKD/DKD because of concerns that the relatively high protein content of low carb diets will accelerate renal function decline.
